AGM outcomes 2023

Last week, we hosted our 10th Annual General Meeting with the wonderful support of our Auditors Nexia Perth (specifically Muranda Janse van Nieuwenhuizen and Niamh Byrne).

100 Women had another successful financial year during 2022-2023 with the delivery of five grants totalling $185k which is geared to directly impact 18,839 women and girls across Australia, Cambodia and Uganda. We also hit a major milestone in raising over $1 million in collective member donations for the grants pool since we launched our grants in 2014.

Over the past 18 months, we invested heavily in streamlining operations and IT architecture to ensure our membership engagement and satisfaction continued to improve and to align with technological advances. We invested holistically in a new website, customer relationship management system, membership portal, online grants applications and marketing communications platform.

We trialled new events and member only tours to continue our vision in building awareness of gender inequity and the solutions that exist within the grassroots charities our members support.

The team have also brought on more brand, strategic and community partnerships to ensure sustainable growth in addition to plenty of small fundraising efforts to support the operations expenses of our organisation.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank our Board – Alicia Curtis (Co-Founder), Virginia Miltrup MLM GAICD FAIM MLGP (Chair), Bianca Starcevich (Vice Chair), Alex Willcocks (Treasurer), Ariel Bastian (Company Secretary), Gail Milne (Membership Lead), Jane Cormack, MBAMitra KhakbazDeb Russell and Wendy Ugarte (Board support volunteer) for their passion and commitment to 100 Women.

To our Ambassadors Rabia SiddiqueFadzi WhandeSophie McNeill and Wilson Casado, FAIM for their visionary leadership. And to the wider volunteer community including our Grants Committee, Finance Team, Membership Team, Marketing, Events, Governance and New Horizons volunteers, THANK you for your support!

Karen Brittain, 100 Women’s Executive Officer, had this to say about the volunteers and Board of 100 Women:
“The 100 Women volunteer community is the backbone of our charity. Every day, they choose kindness, positivity, support and generosity in guiding 100 Women’s operations and grants toward sustainable growth. Their vision for the empowerment of women and girls is endless”.
