5 incredible projects receive $242,470 in funding at this year’s 100 Women Gala Dinner

On Friday 15th September, we were delighted to mark our 10th anniversary of giving this year by awarding five grant recipients a total of $242,470 at our Gala Dinner with 350 guests at the Hyatt Regency Perth.

The 2023 grant recipients were shortlisted from a competitive field of more than 120 applications from Australian organisations running local, national and global grassroots initiatives that support and empower women and girls.

The recipients were chosen through a member voting process and include four projects in Australia and one in India, directly benefiting 2,250 women and girls. The grassroots projects vary across several areas of focus; from education programs to prevent child marriage, post-natal care of mothers in the regions and health/wellbeing education for disadvantaged CaLD communities. There are also several projects focusing on women’s safety such as specialist workshops, health care and leasing opportunities for female victims of family and domestic violence.

These organisations provide crucial ongoing support and care to women and girls in Australia and around the world.

Each year our members have the important task of voting for their favourite grant finalists after a six month grant-making process. Members are working together as a collective to make significant and positive changes for women and girls. This year, our member voting outcomes were incredibly close which speaks volumes about the quality and critical need of the projects presented to them. These evidence-based programs will be providing safety to women and girls, they will be educating them, improving access to healthcare, and giving opportunities for a brighter future

Alicia Curtis, 100 Women Co Founder

100 Women’s national brand partners Ostelin, who have been supporting the annual grants program since 2022, were delighted with the grant recipient projects selected in 2023.  General Manager of Sanofi (Ostelin’s parent company), Gladys Peters, said Ostelin and 100 Women’s renewed partnership is an important opportunity to have a greater impact on Australian women’s lives.

“Together, Ostelin and 100 Women are aiming to balance the playing field so that every woman and girl has access to health, education, safety and economic freedoms. By building awareness of 100 Women and our ‘Project Strong’ campaign, we can strive towards instilling much needed change for women across the nation”

Since 2014, 100 Women have provided financial support to 35 organisations around the world with 39 initiatives that have empowered almost 37,000 women and girls toward a more equitable future.
