Mitra has more than 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the humanitarian and development sectors. She has successfully led the design and delivery of many critical projects within complex social and political contexts. She also has significant experience in managing government funded programs within the broader social services, leading projects across regional development, employment, community wellbeing, case work and intensive support services.
In her current role as Deputy CEO of HOST International she provides service delivery programs across Asia Pacific including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand.
In 2013 Mitra was awarded a Churchill Fellowship. Her research focused on identifying best practices in assisting women with multiple vulnerability from diverse backgrounds into employment and economic independence. This learning journey has influenced her focus on social and economic inclusion of women and the communities they are part of.
