Panelists announced for Half the Sky screening

100 Women is hosting a screening of the documentary based on the book Half the Sky on Tuesday, 12 August at the State Library of WA. Drinks and canapés will be served from 5pm, followed by the screening and a panel discussion around the issues discussed in the film and how we can make a difference to the lives of women and girls.

We are very excited to announce our amazing guest panellists for this event:

Rabia Siddique – 100 Women Ambassador

Rabia is rapidly gaining a reputation as an outstanding motivational and inspirational speaker, facilitator, resilience and leadership coach, and champion of women in leadership. Rabia is a criminal and human rights lawyer, a retired British Army officer, a former terrorism and war crimes prosecutor and published author. In 2006 Rabia was awarded a Queen’s commendation for her human rights work in Iraq.

Rachelle Towart – CEO, Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre

Rachelle’s work with AILC has resulted in accolades including Emerging Leader of the Year in the Not-for-profit sector (2014 NAB Women’s Agenda Leadership Award), Australia’s Top Community CEO (2013 Westpac Community Leaders Awards) and Rachelle was named one of Australia’s 100 most influential women in the 2013 AFR Women of Influence Awards.

Professor Alison Bartlett – Chair of Gender Studies, University of Western Australia

Professor Bartlett’s teaching and research is mainly around gender and sexuality in popular culture. She has published books on contemporary maternity, and Australian women’s writing, and edited books on Australian feminist objects, breastfeeding ethics, Australian literature, and postgraduate supervision, as well as editing special issues of journals on breastfeeding culture, and women’s writing.

Conrad Liveris – Writer, Researcher and Advocate

Conrad is an advocate, adviser and researcher on issues relating to gender and generations. He is a regular blogger for websites such as Women’s Agenda and the Good Men Project amongst others. He has a keen interest in productivity and opportunity. He currently advises workplaces on achieving diversity.
