International Women’s Day is one of the most important days in the calendar for women. Held on the 8th of March has been observed since the 1900s the day is used both to celebrate women’s achievements and be involved in activating change. This years’ theme for International Women’s Day is #MakeItHappen and you can find more details here and here.
This theme is open to interpretation about how we want to drive holistic change and it could be used to reinvigorate our own campaigns and encourage us to network with others to create the groundswell movement. The impact that the recent He4She campaign has had on our communities cannot be underestimated, and the traction that Emma Watson has gained is definitely inspiring.
As 100 Women we will be participating in various state and local events (more details can be found here). If you are involved in such an event then please let us know what you are doing and why. We want to hear from you!
With the right networks we can build the change we need – so let’s make Sunday the 8th the day to have those conversations!
