The 2018 100 Women Gala Celebration was an inspirational night to remember!
Here’s a beautiful recap of our Gala event by True Life Stories.
Most excitingly 100 Women awarded grants to four local, national and international projects supporting women and families. The grants include:
Dress for Success Perth was granted $25,877 to equip unemployed women with job search skills and professional resumes via its Resume Hub program, an extension to the personalised suiting, interview support and career workshops already offered.
The Shooting Stars Netball Program, hosted by Glass Jar Australia and Netball WA, was granted $30,000 to use netball and other tools to increase school attendance rates for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls living in regional and remote communities across WA.
The Freedom Hub’s Freedom School for Survivors in Brisbane was granted $29,880 to support the social and economic reintegration of victims of sex-trafficking, forced prostitution, or slavery. This is an expansion of services after much success in Sydney.
One Girl Australia in partnership with Restless Development was granted $30,000 to improve the economic outcomes for vulnerable women and girls in Sierra Leone by providing business management, health and life skills training.
Plus $500 donations were made to our two other grant finalists, The Sunflower Foundation and Birthing Kit Foundation Australia.
Next Year – Big Plans for 100 Women
On the night, we had 20 people join 100 Women and more since then too, which is a testament to what people see that 100 Women offers – the power of the collective! What can be achieved when we stand together and stand up for the change we want to see in the world.
Next year, we would love to keep increasing the funding we can provide. This means we each must find our ‘100 women (or men)’ to join our movement. Only with your support is this possible, please consider joining now – did you know there are three impact levels that can be paid both monthly or annually?
Thank you for supporting 100 Women to grow and prosper in the future.
