The October Connect event was held at Linton and Kay Art Gallery in Brookfield Place with a private viewing of the Black Swan Prize.
Tina Wilson, the director of ARTrinsic and director of the exhibition welcomed the members with an explanation of how the exhibition came about.
Now in its 8th year, the Black Swan Prize was developed to provide WA artists with an opportunity to exhibit their paintings without having to ship their works interstate to compete in exhibitions like the Archibald Prize.
ARTrinsic Inc. is a not for profit organisation with DGR status dedicated to expanding and enhancing Western Australia’s art community and culture. ARTrinsic Inc’s vision is to ‘engage the community to embrace and enjoy visual arts’, and its purpose is to deliver high quality and innovative events like the Black Swan Prize.

The group then retired to Bar Lafayette for drinks and discussion on which artwork would get their vote in the People’s Choice Prize. Thank you to Tina and the team for opening the gallery for the viewing.
