February Newsletter 2022

Introduction by Virginia Miltrup, Chair, 100 Women.

Welcome to our first newsletter for 2022. We hope you are all keeping well and had a great start to the year.

Firstly I just wanted to thank all of our new members for joining us and all of our renewing members. Thank you for being an integral part of this wonderful community. Because of you, we are collectively changing the lives of women and girls for the better. And there is so much to celebrate this year!

Who wants to be a MILLIONAIRE?

Did you know that we are tantalisingly close to reaching a cumulative total of $1,000,000 in grants awarded since we launched 100 Women in 2014? What an incredible milestone to achieve and we are absolutely committed to get there! But we are going to need your help to make it happen.

Our goal is to raise at least $140,000 in membership and donations by October 28th. So how can you help? Everyday philanthropy starts by spreading the message about 100 Women. Talk to your friends, your work colleagues, your family. Our community of givers can be young, old, man or woman and from any given background.

In the meantime, 100 Women have been extremely busy building upon the foundations of our organisation’s board, staff and volunteers. I am delighted to announce that we have two new Trustee Board Members – Gail Milne, who will support our Membership committee; and Taliah Payne, who will focus on our diversity and inclusion strategies and support our Grants committee. We are also delighted to officially welcome on board Karen Brittain, our Executive Officer for 100 Women. Karen’s role is to ensure 100 Women continues to grow with sustainable and positive outcomes.

We wanted to sincerely thank Wayne Peel, whom is stepping down from the Trustee Board this year but remaining in our community. Wayne has been an incredible support to 100 Women for the past three years, his knowledge, networks and advice has been pivotal in the continued growth of 100 Women.

In this, our first newsletter for 2022, you will find some wonderful information as we start to put a spotlight on our volunteers and members that make up who we are. We are also delighted to announce a series of events and campaigns that we hope will ignite your passion to support the charities that 100 Women believe in.

As always, if you have any questions or would like to share your feedback we’d love to hear from you – email [email protected].
