In 2014, Zonta House Refuge Association, a refuge and community organisation in Perth offering holistic, nurturing education and care to women after enduring a crisis, received $40,000 to fund Positive Pathways to Safety for Women and the Community, a preventative program assisting women to lead more independent, safe and fulfilling lives. In addition the grant provided catalytic support to the Starting Over Support service (SOS), which provides furniture and household goods to women who are restarting their lives with minimal financial stability.
Impact:
Domestic violence and homelessness take a significant toll on women’s physical and mental health.
100 Women’s support enabled the Zonta House Refuge Association to provide critical emotional support and skill development to a total of 500 women and children.
100 Women’s ability to fund key infrastructure of the Starting Over Support Service (SOS) enabled it to significantly expand the distribution furniture and household goods to women and families restarting their lives, and go on to become a registered charity in its own right.
